Natural Resources

Throughout the IACC series, the corruption issues surrounding public and private extractive industries and their related markets (forestry, water, land, fisheries, mining, oil, gas and particularly the energy market), which are highly prone to corruption have been explored. These papers explore how corruption in these sectors often determines the fate of democratic institutions, has a detrimental impact on the environment and the lives of millions.

You can view the working paper produced for the 14th IACC on transparency and accountability in natural resources and energy markets here. The paper outline the kinds of corruption that exists in this sector and the innovative anti-corruption approaches being used to combat this.
